The Question Mark Season

Brunch anyone? 🍳There’s nothing sweeter than catching up with friends! 🍓

Lately, I’ve been super encouraged by my friends as it seems like we can all relate to each other in this one area:

question marks❓❓❓ The kind where we have a decision to make… with jobs, school, relationships, cities the list goes on! It seems like a lot of us are in a question mark season and we just don’t know what’s next. But God does!

Do you ever feel like your life is like one big question mark too?

When we read verses like Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans I have for you” and Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go” we hope and secretly expect God to light our paths in a way that makes sense to us.

But let’s get real, God’s ways are so much bigger and better than our ways!

Instead of our faith walks being a straight line with a simple point A to point B route, like an exclamation mark, there seems to be a lot of curving going on.

Sometimes I think, “God, wouldn’t it be so much easier (and faster) if this journey you were taking me on was just a straight shot to the finish line?” But I guess that’s why they call it a journey, a faith walk, because walking with God doesn’t always make sense.

Verses like Isaiah 55:8-9 remind us of this truth: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’” I want to encourage you today that God does care about your questions, and God is with you in your question mark season.

He will never leave you or forsake you and though it feels like a twisty, turny, rocky path He is with you every step of the way.

Run to Him today with your questions and trust in Him to provide the answer.

He is faithful! ❤️ Isaiah 65:24

“Before they call I will answer while they are yet speaking I will hear.”
